Debi Ledford of Knoxville, Tennessee, loves making jewelry. She started
five years ago and has worked in several techniques. Even though she now
has two children, ages 10 months and 4 years, she sells her "Debi
Doodles" at crafts fairs and flea markets. Debi says the spool pins also
make great button covers--just attach them to removable, clip-on button
covers instead of pinbacks.
TO MAKE: Buy 3 miniature (1/2"-long) wooden thread spools from a crafts
store. Wind each with a different-color embroidery floss. Fasten the end
with a drop of white glue. Arrange the spools to touch each other, but
keep the back flat so you can attach a pinback. Use a glue gun or tacky
glue to stick them together and attach the pinback.
